At the Virtual Business Central launch event for 2021 release wave 1, Microsoft announced a new cloud storage pricing and allocation scheme, valid from July 1, 2021. The cloud storage scheme applies for LS Central SaaS customers.
Under the cloud storage scheme, LS Central SaaS customers will be allocated cloud storage on top of their 80 GB base entitlement, based on the number of Essentials or Premium seats they have in their license. 2 GB are added for each Essentials user, or 3 GB for each Premium user.
Additional storage will be offered at a reduced price, or for $10/GB/month (from $40). Also, additional storage may be purchased in increments of 100 GB, and then for $500/100 GB/month (equal to $5/GB/month).
Below are examples, based on real customer numbers, showing how storage cost will be radically lowered or eliminated with the changes.
We are hopeful that this new scheme will meet the needs of LS Central customers of different sizes, and make the SaaS option a more competitive choice in terms of pricing.
At the same time we remind you about the recently announced improved quantity discounts for yearly SaaS, and encourage you to watch our recent webinar, LS Central SaaS Economics where we demonstrated the economical advantages of SaaS over on-prem.
