Duration: This course is available on-demand and self-paced. The recommended time for review is approximately 20 hours.

Audience: Developers

Training prerequisites: Knowledge of AL programming is required. Good knowledge of LS Central is also necessary. Good basic knowledge of Business Central, and some general knowledge of software development. LS Central for retail Base certification is recommended, but required prior to registering for the LS Central AL programming certification exam.

Course objective

This course provides developers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to extend and customize LS Central using AL code. Participants will learn how to configure Visual Studio Code for AL development, apply coding standards, and use GitHub Copilot to streamline coding workflows. The course also covers LS POS architecture, POS customization techniques, POS receipt modifications, and the development of custom POS solutions.

Preparation requirements

All participants must have the Virtual Machine (VM) from the LS Retail Portal installed or have access to LS Central (on-prem or SaaS). Either option is acceptable.

Please ensure you have a current developer license with LS Retail objects available and uploaded to the VM server. Participants must also have local administrator rights on their machines and have access to a wireless network and the internet.
